Let's Shop for a Cause!

The winter weather is in full swing, even though days like today don't exactly feel like it.  With the winter comes the NYC Half Marathon!  Like last winter, I will be running this awesome race in honor of my grandmother, Ann Gassie who passed away with complications from Alzheimer's and dementia two years ago.

Each year I run with Athletes to End Alzheimer's, where each runner raises a minimum of $1,500 to donate to CaringKind.  As many as 5 million Americans are currently suffering from Alzheimer's disease, and CaringKind helps local NYC families and patients as they fight this irreversible brain disorder.  They provide free support to Alzheimer's and dementia patients, train family members how to properly care for their loved ones, and support research efforts to help find a cure for this, and related diseases.  So.... what does all of this have to do with your wardrobe?

10% of any services booked during the month of February will be donated to the fundraiser!  So if you're ready to clean out your closet or add some new pieces to the mix, you'll not only be sprucing up your wardrobe, but you'll be making a positive impact through a fabulous charity!!

If you'd like to read more about why this cause is so important to me, you can do so on my fundraiser page!  And if you're not in need of any wardrobe updates, I'll graciously accept all of the e-cheerleading I can get!

In honor of CaringKind's orange color, I've created this months email with great ways to incorporate this vibrant hue in a causal, yet stylish way!  For the gentleman, pair a chunky knit sweater with dark distressed denim and warm accessories to balance out the color palette.

For the ladies, keep these "cold shoulders" warm with a deep brown faux fur coat!  Bring in a mustard yellow bag, moto style jeans, and gold and brown jewelry to complete the look.
